Rocky Horror Picture Show Let s Do the Timewarp Again Piratebay
More than than twoscore years after The Rocky Horror Pic Prove introduced the "Time Warp," Play a joke on premieres its reimagining of the cult classic when The Rocky Horror Picture Testify: Let'south Do the Time Warp Over again premieres tonight.
The 2-hour movie follows sweethearts Janet (Victoria Justice) and Brad (Ryan McCartan), who stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter's (Laverne Cox) bizarre abode. Frank-N-Furter, a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious mad-scientist, is holding an annual Transylvanian science convention to showcase the nativity of Rocky Horror (Starz Naz) — a muscle-bound specimen created solely to fulfill Frank-N-Furter's desires.
"Coming from the globe of Nickelodeon and having a lot of younger fans that are teenagers and immature adults, I call up it'south gonna be really absurd to be able to introduce The Rocky Horror Picture show to a make‑new generation that probably wouldn't take been exposed to it otherwise," Justice says. "The fact that information technology'due south going to exist airing on Play tricks is something that is so cool, considering now a new generation is going to be able to sing along to 'The Time Warp,' and they're going to be familiar with these characters."
As well starring in the new production are American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert as Eddie, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford as Columbia, Christina Milian as Magenta, Ivy Levan as Usherette, Tony Award winner Ben Vereen as Dr. Everett Scott, and Tim Back-scratch, the original Frank-Northward-Furter, every bit the show'southward Criminologist Narrator.
"I remember quite a lot of the original motion-picture show as it was my kickoff moving picture, and I didn't miss much," Curry reminiscences. "It was fun, though, to exercise it again. I actually offered myself as Dr. Scott considering I was already in a wheelchair. They thought the narrator was a meliorate fit, and I enjoyed it a lot."
Landing Laverne Cox to play Dr. Frank-N-Furter was quite the coup for Choreographer/Managing director/Executive Producer Kenny Ortega. Cox, it turns out, had wanted to play the role ever since she beginning saw the film. In fact, she says it helped her get through college. She would watch it in her dorm room, where she learned all the moves.
"She'southward a force, five‑octave range, a degree in dance from a major university, acting her heart out in New York, and studying for over fifteen years, walking in and bringing something into the room that made us all realize there was no Plan B. That if we could land this person in this role, that she had and then much to give to it, a life experience, an incredible depth of talent, an enthusiasm, and a respect, an incredible respect for this film, all that has mattered," Ortega says. "She was just an accented joy. Nosotros knew it from the first that this was the person that gave us raison d'ĂȘtre to make this movie."
And Ben Vereen adds, "I like to believe that we are paying a tribute to the corking artists that did it before and paying homage to them for laying the groundwork to allow us the opportunity to express ourselves through the characters. This is not, to me, a remake. You cannot remake The Rocky Horror Picture Bear witness. It is an iconic piece. But you can pay tribute and honor to information technology, and that'due south what I think that we've wanted to practise and nosotros've accomplished."
