*Listened to this again - four years later and all 4 kids loved information technology. (June 2015) **
This was a great short book to listen to in the car with the kids. Information technology was simply over an hour and the reader was very good. Parents and kids both enjoyed it. I will have to read more than of Judy Blume's younger novels to the kids. (April 2011)*Listened to this again - 4 years later and all four kids loved it. (June 2015) **

This is one volume I'd definitely recommend for any fan of children'south books or any child nether 10 looking for a calorie-free fun read. The volume begins with Jake ad his sis Abigail who are what I similar to call frenemies. They'd fight each other tooth and blast merely would defend each other against outsiders too. I institute my cocky shivering with laughter right from the first chapter and that set up the tone for the unabridged volume for.
The simply downside to the volume is the alternate narrators which I think a young reader would notice disruptive.
Other than that, this would be a great choice for a fun family read.
Information technology all starts when Jacob (the Pain) makes a error in reading grouping. He reads fiend rather than friend and the kids in class think it's hysterically funny. Soon it's a running gag. Just the remainder of the story circles back to this theme multiple times ... especially when Abigail (the Nifty I) who usually is more of a fiend toward the Pain stands up for him in forepart of a hateful girl.
An oldie but a goodie ... fun family story for early on readers.
Enjoyable, peculiarly if yous read all four books and become to know all the characters, including Fluzzy the cat.
We enjoyed reading this book together and we actually liked the whole serial. I loved reading Judy Blume's stori
This is a funny and sweet story (actually, it's a collection of brusque stories) most sibling relationships at the ages of half-dozen and 8. That'due south perfect for our girls, and although the dynamic is different in our house (with two girls instead of a girl and a boy), the love, the fights, the protectiveness, the encouragements and the competitiveness are still very much the same in many respects. We enjoyed reading this book together and we actually liked the whole series. I loved reading Judy Blume'south stories when I was a child and I am thrilled to be able to share them with our girls.

I know anybody loves Judy Blume, merely there are times in her books that I want to slam it close and then I don't have to listen to the whiny, pestering, annoying vox of either kid as they debate with each other - just a little too realistic. It is like listening to my children and frankly, I am through with that!!! So definitely not my favorite book.
The Pain and the Smashing One (aka little blood brother, Jake, and big sister, Abigail) are at information technology once more - fighting and uniting.I know anybody loves Judy Blume, only there are times in her books that I want to slam it shut and so I don't take to listen to the whiny, pestering, abrasive voice of either kid equally they argue with each other - just a little as well realistic. It is like listening to my children and frankly, I am through with that!!! So definitely not my favorite volume.

There were iii books in our library and they were all in the childrens department and so I basically read information technology in an hour!
It was alright. I am non a convert to Judy Blume just from this one book, but I think I would have enjoyed it as a kid. Some friends are having a "Judy Blume" volume read thing on their blog, so I went tot he library to become some since I have never read Judy Blume books.
